Located on the banks of the Seine in Boulogne-Billancourt, Métal 57 is a project to restructure and extend the iconic former site of the Renault factories, designed by the renowned architect Claude Vasconi in 1984. For the BNP Paribas Real Estate group, the aim of this operation was to turn the new headquarters into a flagship for real estate expertise and a laboratory for innovative services for employees and customers.
"Our ambition is to reconvert this building steeped in history, with its unique industrial architecture, into a contemporary office building anchored in the city. This project is a real laboratory for ideas and experimentation, where our teams are anticipating the new real estate journeys and uses of tomorrow ", explains Thierry Laroue-Pont, Chairman of the Management Board of BNP Paribas Real Estate.
Modern and functional, Métal 57 now welcomes more than 3,600 employees and corporates such as Henkel France, Odigo, Kellog's France, Netatmo, and Kronenbourg on a surface area of 37,000 m².
Designed to make hot desking a breeze, Métal 57 is equipped with all the services needed to help employees return to the office. With 5,000 sqm of services, occupants can enjoy a food court with a wide range of flavors, a 3,500 sqm rooftop terrace with a botanical area and a panoramic view of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower, a flexible conference room that can accommodate up to 500 people, a fitness area, a wellness center, and a concierge service.
Given the large number of services offered within their new headquarters and a multi-tenant configuration, BNPPRE was looking for an all-in-one, customizable solution that met their technical challenges and was easily accessible to all stakeholders.
For a project of this magnitude, the objectives were ambitious and multiple:
To carry out this project, BNPPRE chose Witco to accompany them in their global phase of digital transformation through the prism of new ways of working and employee well-being.
With a ratio of 0.65 (less than one desk per employee), the implementation of features designed to optimize space management was a must as soon as employees moved to the new headquarters. To do this, an interactive map allows employees to find their way around the space, identify the nearest workspace (desk, meeting room, collaboration space) and book it in a few clicks.
In addition to this optimized view, the Metal 57 app gathers in real-time the states of occupation of the workspaces thanks to the sensors installed on site. Therefore, the interactive map lets the employees see the available, occupied, and reserved spaces.
Finally, in order to meet the different needs of employees, the application is synchronized with Microsoft Office 365, which allows them to make reservations from their calendar or the Métal 57 application.
The Metal 57 application is intended to be the single point of access for all building stakeholders, from HR to facility managers, IT teams, and maintenance.
Thanks to an integrated ticketing system, occupants can, directly from the application, make a service request or declare a workplace issue (a broken light bulb, a screen that doesn't work, a water leak, etc.). These incident declarations and their geolocation enable teams to intervene quickly, resolve the problem as soon as possible and keep employees informed.
[.r-highlight-box][.r-highlight] Employees report an average of 50 incidents per month for a 90% resolution rate. [.r-highlight][.r-highlight-box]
The building has a 500 sqm gym open from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm to offer maximum flexibility to employees. Thanks to the integration with our partner The Corporate Gym & Wellbeing, employees can book their sports sessions directly via their application, or benefit from a remote offer thanks to live sessions and replays available in the application.
[.r-highlight-box][.r-highlight] More than 700 people take advantage of this offer, with an attendance rate of 60% and a satisfaction rate of 85%. [.r-highlight][.r-highlight-box]
A concierge service, through our partner Circles, is also available from the app. From dry cleaning to hairdressing, clothing alterations to shoe repair, no less than 40 online services are offered to all employees, allowing them to save time in the workplace and increase their productivity.
A catering service, in partnership with TimeChef, is also integrated into the application. Employees can take advantage of a wide choice of menus, via 8 gastronomic themes: from sandwiches to hot meals or "healthy", there is something for every taste and every diet.
[.r-highlight-box][.r-highlight] This catering service allows employees to share a moment of conviviality and to optimize cohesion between teams. 76% of employees eat lunch at least twice a week. [.r-highlight][.r-highlight-box]
